Intelligent Pressure Sensor Compensation and Calibration Software V1.0

Independent compensation algorithms for accurate pressure measurement as temperature changes

Accuracy at room temperature does not establish the same accuracy as temperature changes. Rodee develops its own compensation algorithms and calibration software, enabling compensation development around product temperature characteristics rather than being limited to chip-vendor fixed compensation schemes. This supports control of Total Error Band (TEB) within the specified temperature range.

Correct temperature-related output changes across the required range

During equipment start-up, sustained operation or changes in ambient temperature, temperature effects can shift the sensor output even when the applied pressure is unchanged. Equipment operating across temperatures needs those errors to be considered alongside room-temperature accuracy.

Temperature compensation corrects these output changes; calibration compares the output with a reference under specified conditions to establish measurement performance. Combining compensation with product calibration helps support the pressure measurement accuracy required within the specified temperature range.

Develop the algorithms and software around product characteristics

Rodee developed Intelligent Pressure Sensor Compensation and Calibration Software V1.0 and obtained computer software copyright registration. Alongside chip selection and hardware design, the company can develop compensation around product temperature characteristics, calibration requirements and accuracy targets, connecting algorithm optimisation with product calibration.

In-house control of this work allows compensation development to follow product requirements rather than being limited to applying a fixed, general-purpose scheme. Algorithms, software and calibration together are one of the technical foundations of Rodee’s development of high-accuracy pressure sensors and control of measurement errors across temperature changes.

Use TEB to assess accuracy as temperature changes

Total Error Band (TEB) describes the overall error boundary across a specified pressure and compensated temperature range. Compared with accuracy at one reference temperature, it is more useful for assessing whether a product meets equipment requirements as temperature changes.

Compare TEB, compensated temperature range and typical or maximum values using the relevant model datasheet and test conditions. Provide the required range, media and ambient temperatures, output and permitted error to discuss a suitable configuration with Rodee. Check the compensated temperature range separately from the permitted operating range.

Compensation and selection questions

How should I choose the compensation state of a core if I already have acquisition electronics?

An uncompensated core can be assessed if temperature compensation and pressure calibration will be completed in-house. A compensated core can be assessed when an output with the relevant compensation and calibration already completed is preferred. Both require compatible power, signals and subsequent assembly.

Can a field zero adjustment replace temperature compensation?

A zero adjustment addresses an offset under the relevant conditions, not the full temperature and pressure range. For accuracy as temperature changes, check the model’s compensated range and TEB and confirm calibration conditions for the actual configuration.
